Solvent Based Primers

SAMPRIME SB is solvent based black bitumen paint. When dry the product forms an odorless and taints free bitumen film suitable for the protection of metals, concrete roofing, felt, fiber cement, corrugated iron, asphalt and wood against water attack.

SAMPRIME SB is intended for prime coating for preparation of the surface before installation of torch-on or self-adhesive waterproofing material. The prime coating is necessary for ensuring the strong adhesion of the bitumen-based waterproofing materials to porous, rough and dusty surfaces.

The primer presents a mix of high-quality bitumen and specially selected organic solvents. It has an enhanced covering capacity, penetrability and short drying time.

SAMPRIME SB is applied to a surface by large or small brush. It is applied to the base at once that grants additional convenience and enhanced performance.

Uses of SAMPRIME SB

SAMPRIME SB provides an effective

  • water proof,
  • weather proof,
  • corrosion resistant protective coatings.

The primer presents a mix of high-quality bitumen and specially selected organic solvents.
It is resistant to low concentrations of alkalis and acids and withstands prolonged oxidation it is suitable for application to a wide variety of materials including iron and steel, lead, zinc aluminum, asbestos-cement, concrete, stone, wood, felt and brick and is mainly used for metal protection, protecting drinking water tanks as a protective coating for concrete structures, stone, bricks, concrete screeds and sand/cement surfaces over coating felt/woo.

Application

Nurprime SB is ready for use and should not be thinned. Apply by brush or spray, A minimum of two coats of bitumen paint should be applied, the first should be allowed dry (Normally 2- 4 hours depending on weather condition) before the second is applied application rate 4-6m2 /Liter however the coverage will depend on the porosity of the Substrate. Drying time is 3-4 hours at normal atmospheric temperature. Keep away from sources of ignition. Can be stored atmospheric temperature.

Cleaning

can be removed from equipment and tools with any suitable solvents such as kerosene or Gasoline or Diesel.

Storage

Up to 12 months in tightly sealed, undamaged container. It should be stored indoors under conditions applying to products with flash point of 38 degree Celsius.

Skin Coat

The solvent may have a narcotic effect if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Wear protective clothing and goggles storage.

Coverage

Approximate rate: 0.2 – 0.3 kg/m2. The exact rate will depend upon the porosity or smoothness of the surface.

Health & Safety

Flashpoint for the product is 38 degree Celsius, so it’s a flammable material, in case of fire use dry powder, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) foam. Do not smoke. Wipe off spillages immediately.

Remarks

Empty cans should be disposed as per the rules and regulations of the country where the material is used. And in NO case should empty cans be used for food stuffing.
