Geflow Bitumen Penetration 40-50 is a suitable type of bitumen for road paving and use for repairing. It is usually used in in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses.

Softening point and penetration of bitumen 40/50

This company passes pure petroleum bitumen through a vacuum floor with hot air to make Penetration grade bitumen. Also it is made from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. Penetration grade bitumen 30/40 has penetration between 40~50 desi-millimeter and softening point between 52 ~ 60C. Bitumen 40/50, like synthetic resin, has thermoplastic properties which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade of bitumen 40/50 has very strong viscosity compare to other grades.

Using bitumen 40/50 in modern asphalt:

This grade of asphalt is used in hot mix asphalt factories. It uses for bases and wearing courses. Bitumen 35/50 lasts longer and guarantees thin pavements. Moreover, this design uses 30% less asphalt than traditional designs. Also due to its low permeability, this bitumen is used for paving, repairs and etc. Also using bitumen 40/50 ensures the long life of your pavement.
